Walking Trails in DFW

White Rock Lake Park Loop Trail
This trail is part of the Dallas’ trail system and is one of the most popular trails in the area. It is 9.4 miles in length and is located along the shoreline of the White Rock Lake. This trail connects to many other trails in the system including the Union Pacific Trail, Santa Fe Trail, Katy Spur Trail and the White Rock Creek Trail(North).
Cedar Ridge Preserve
Formerly known as the Dallas Nature Center, Cedar Ridge Preserve is a 603-acre wildlife Preserve that offers 9 miles of hiking trails. There are different trails that range from beginner to more advanced. Check out the map that is posted at the beginning to pick the right trail for you. And for all you dog lovers, Cedar Ridge Preserve is pet-friendly so you can bring your dog along.
Kiest Park Trail
Kiest Park Trail is a 2.2-mile loop that is great for all skill levels. This trail is located in Kiest Park and connects the gardens, playing fields, nature areas, and other amenities of the park. With only moderate foot traffic, it is a great place for you to bring the kids and dog for a stroll through nature.
Lakeside Park
If you are looking for a with a scenic view while you walk, you should definitely check out Lakeside Park. The walking trails will lead you along Turtle Creek to the Bridge atop the Turtle Creek Dam where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the area. There are also numerous benches along the trail for you to sit and relax awhile.
Katy Trail
The Katy Trail is another great trail to check out. It is on the site of the old MKT Railroad that was abandoned in the 1980s. This historic trail is 3.5 miles and extends from SMU to the American Airlines Center. You will love taking in the beautiful landscape along the well-maintained paths. This trail also links to other parks in the city.
