Ice Skating Rinks in DFW

Looking for ice skating rinks in DFW? Ice skating is a great way to be active as a family and enjoy time together. Here at DFW Bubble Ball, we always encourage our readers to find ways to play together. 

Here is a list of places to go skating in the area. 

1. GALLERIA ICE SKATING CENTER

The Galleria Ice Skating Center is located in the middle of the Galleria Mall in the middle of Dallas Fort Worth Texas. The admission is $12 and skate rental is $3.

The hours of operation are normally from Monday thru Friday, the earliest being 10 am, unless there are events scheduled. Usually, it closes at 11 pm during the week. On Saturday and Sunday, it’s opened up at 12 pm to the public, but closes at 1 am on Saturdays, 6 pm on Sundays. What’s interesting about the place is that The Galleria Dallas has been opened since 1982. It has had more Olympic champions perform there than any Texas venue.

2. CHILDREN’S HEALTH STARS CENTER

Children’s Health Stars  Center, Dallas Stars community ice skating rink has many different locations throughout Dallas Fort-Worth, Texas. It is the official skating rink of the  NHL logos franchise. Admission for children 3 and under is free, for children 4+ admission is $10, skate rental is $5. The public can learn to skate at three different sessions:  

• Friday evenings
• Weekends
• Themed sessions. 

Beginners can use buckets as props during these sessions to maintain their balance in the bucket zones. 

The normal hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 5 pm to 10 pm, Friday through Sunday from 12 pm to 12 am.

3. PANTHER ISLAND ICE SKATING RINK

Panther  Island Ice Skating  Rink is an outdoor ice skating rink located at the Coyote Drive-in complex in Fort Worth, Texas. This skating rink offers holiday activities and discounts not only for local college students but also for military skaters.

The rink offers other specials throughout the week for its patrons. 

• Wednesdays – $2 off when you bring a canned good
• Tuesdays – Half price skating for only $6.50

Normal hours are Monday through Thursday from 3 pm – 10 pm, Fridays from 3 pm – 11 pm, Saturdays 11 am – 11pm, and Sundays from 11 am – 10 pm. 

However, during the winter break, the rink is open daily from 11 am – 11 pm and Sundays from 11 am – 10 pm.

4. FARMER’S BRANCH CHILDREN’S HEALTH STAR CENTER LOCATION

The Children’s Health Stars Center is located on the east side of Stemmons freeway, a branch of the Children’s Health Star Center owned by the National Hockey League. This branch is normally open from 6 am – 10 pm Monday through Sunday with it’s most popular times being from 6 pm – 10 pm. This facility has 2 indoor rinks as well as an outdoor rink that offers league play, lessons, and open skate, and it’s wheelchair accessible.
